Outstanding value, friendly service, convenient location and excellent fresh, locally sourced food.

One of the finest traditional markets in England, Doncaster Market has existed in its current town-centre location since AD43 and was granted its first market charter in 1193 by King Richard 1. The market continues to be a key retail attraction, offering over 400 stalls and enjoys plenty of affordable car parking and good public transport links.

The impressive Doncaster Market Estate houses iconic buildings such as The International Food Hall, The Corn Exchange, Fish Market, Wool Market and a vast outdoor market.

Doncaster Markets

🚨OFFICIAL STATEMENT🚨

... it’s a long one, you might want a cup of tea ☕️

Doncaster and Mexborough Markets have continued to be open throughout the lockdown period, providing essential food supplies of fresh meats, fish and vegetables, cooked meats, cheeses, deli and bakery products over the past weeks which have been well received by visitors to the Market both old and new.

Measures have been in place to monitor and control entry into the building, with shoppers being greeted upon arrival, directed to hand sanitising facilities and instructions of the exit location to assist with social distancing requirements.

In line with the latest government guidance, we are pleased to say that from Friday 5th June the
Tuesday, Friday and Saturday outdoor market will reopen on the Market Place, with social distancing measures in place including the spacing out of traders, introduction of one-way systems
and ground markings to support social distancing. Other retail will be re-opening from 16th June on Tuesdays, Fridays and Saturdays between 8am and
2pm across the estate. This includes the Corn Exchange, Goose Hill Market and the Wool Market, as well as retail traders at Mexborough Market, with new measures in place to ensure social distancing and hand-sanitising can be adhered to. These will include one-way systems, designated points of entry and exit, floor markings and hand-
sanitising stations.

We encourage people to come back to the market and support local traders in a safe way, and market staff and the wider community of traders will be on hand to provide guidance and support.

Although food units are not yet able to open in the Wool Market, many traders will be offering a
takeaway service from 4th June, available from 5pm to 9pm on Thursday, Friday and Saturday
nights. Orders can be taken through Just Eat, or by calling traders directly and coming to pick up
your food which will be brought to you at a collection point at the door. Unfortunately, no members of the public will be able to come into the building or use the seating area at this point.

The safety of our traders and the public is our first concern, so the full re-opening will be phased to
build up to the pre-lockdown operating hours. In the meantime, traders who are able to open will be
available Tuesdays, Fridays and Saturdays from 8am until 2pm, and Wool Market food deliveries
available Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights 5pm to 9pm.

We look forward to getting back in full swing, but for now we are building up our capacity and making sure we support social distancing and cleansing and hygiene measures.

For more information, please follow our Facebook Pages (Doncaster Market, The Wool Market and
Mexborough Market) where you can see detailed and up to date information about our opening
times, new initiatives and traders. Many of our traders are offering delivery services and will
continue to do so, so please get in touch with them directly via their social media pages to learn
more.

Thank you 😃

🧐You great folk of Doncaster, KEEP YOUR EYE'S PEELED!👀

We, like all of you, are keeping up to date on the latest government guidelines and are very much in the planning stages of how we can bring back our market... All of it!

Based on the guidance in regards to dates and procedures that need to be put in place, we are working hard to prepare the market for a return that will happen in stages.

This Facebook page is the main platform for you to stay up to date on how these stages play out, leading to a full market return.

Stay tuned for further updates in the coming days/weeks.

THANK YOU to everyone that's shown a huge amount of support to our essential traders that have continued to provide top quality produce to our local community throughout.

We're hopeful that returning traders will get the same level of support and before we know it, Doncaster Market will return as the local heartbeat of our town!

Doncaster Markets

About 784 years ago, at least that's what it feels like, we started creating videos to show you more of our amazing market!

Who remembers this banger that kicked it all off?!

These greengrocer lot don't half put a shift in. It's frightening to think how much further the business has gone in the last couple of months too.

Drop a like on this video to show K.D.Davis & Sons - The Greengrocers some appreciation 🙌
